This is an allowance for pregnant women who have continuously worked for a period of at least 26 weeks before the planned delivery and a had a minimum gross weekly earning of £ 90. SMP is paid for 26 weeks, the amount of the allowance is 90% of pay for the first six weeks and £ 145.18 for the next 33 weeks.

 

The employer should be informed at least 28 days before the planned maternity leave.
